Each week we distribute about 40 large boxes and tote bags of groceries to feed the families from our neighborhood and parish who depend on our food pantry. We are currently feeding 40 to 50 families a week which equals approximately 700 to 800 adults and children each month. Typically, the months of June, July, August and September when our food supply is at its lowest and the need is at its highest. However, anytime is a good time to donate to the pantry to help those in need. The people of St. Pat's are always very generous, but the need continues to grow right here in our parish. We are looking for non-perishable and some perishable items (see below) and boxes (Banana boxes and plastic or paper bags) to hand out food in as well as volunteers to distribute the items. Volunteers are needed to help sort, pack meal boxes, and hand out food. Even if you have an hour to give, we could use your help on Mondays when we hand out food or any other day Tuesday through Friday to help organize, pre-pack boxes, and clean the pantry.
Can you help us supply our families with any of the following items on our "grocery" list? Non-perishable foods, personal care items, and paper goods can be left in the church or at the rectory. Check with Jim Smith at
815-546-4758 or Paul Boley at
815-258-8321 for delivery options. We also consider taking perishable items. Just contact one of the team members for more information.
