Fridays in Lent
On April 11 after the 8:00 a.m. Friday Mass, Father Jim will once again facilitate a series entitled: Following Jesus During These Perilous Times.

All sessions will be held in the Rectory Meeting Room.

Eucharistic Adoration

The Easter message of Death and Resurrection is the message of baptism. At the Easter Sunday liturgies all will experience a renewal of their baptism.

On Monday evening we will meditate and reflect on Baptismal Renewal - being reborn, an experience of paradise and conversion.

We invite all to come at 7:00 p.m. to prepare yourselves for the living out of Holy Week and Easter Resurrection on Sunday.

TV Docudrama on St. Francis of Assisi

Hallmark Channel will present a one-hour docudrama on the life of St. Francis, on Palm Sunday, April 13, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

The film Reluctant Saint: Francis of Assisi was shot on location in Umbria, Italy, where St. Francis lived and worked. It is based on the recent biography by best selling author Donald Spoto and was produced by Emmy award-winner, Pamela Mason Wagner.

Check your local listing or call your cable or satellite provider for channel number.

Visit Reluctant Saint for details on the docudrama and on the life of St. Francis.

How to Worry
12 Easy Ways to Worry and Enjoy It.

Never worry over rumors or what "they say", first get the facts.

Know definitely your worry problem, write it down, face it.

Worry about only one problem at a time.

Set a definite day, afternoon, or night for worrying.

Never worry in bed, in the dining room, living room or at church.

Select an air-conditioned room, lean back in an easy chair.

Set a time limit. If you must go beyond it, give yourself credit for time and a half.

Never worry with a frowning face. Smile, sing, or whistle.

Never worry when you are tired, sick, angry or depressed.

Never worry while working, playing, visiting, shopping, or gossiping.

Two times never to worry: (A) when you can help the situation. (B) when you cannot. Never worry alone. Take it to the Lord.

God Bless,

Father Jim

TIMES OF SCRUTINY

The third, fourth and fifth Sundays are Times of Scrutiny in the R.C.I.A. process. The Lenten Liturgies center on forgiveness and the thirteen men and women of St. Patrick's will express their readiness through the scrutinies. Standing amongst the community, they will be prayed over by Fr. Jim. He will stand before each person, place his hands firmly on the head of each person and silently pray.

During this time of Lent, we are all "called to continuing conversion". Let us resolve to answer this call in our hearts and in our actions, remembering all that the Lord has done for us and that our openness to God's grace can work miracles in our hearts and lives.

All the parish community are asked to remember these "elect" (never baptized) and "candidates" in their prayers.

10 Reasons To Come Back To The Catholic Church

(Continued from last week)

#4 BECAUSE THEY WANT THEIR CHILDREN TO HAVE A FAITH FOUNDATION

Some people return to the Catholic church because they recognize that raising children in a culture that promotes "doing your own thing" can lead to disaster. Children need to experience the spiritual dimension of life. They need a structured system of belief and a firm moral foundation that goes beyond human logic and reasoning. People return because they want a solid foundation upon which their children can build their lives.
