CCW ‘AIN’T’ JUST COOKIES & CAKE

In spite of what Jack Krynicki says, C.C.W. does not stand for "Cookie and Cake Women!" Yes, CCW is one of the organizations that helps furnish cookies and cakes to many of the parish events and receptions that are scheduled throughout the year. However, CCW really stands for Council of Catholic Women which entails much more than just cookies and cake baking. A partial list of other things our CCW does is:

  • Provide scholarships to 8th Grade Graduates
  • Purchase items to be used in the parish such as new tables for the gym (this year's donation)
  • Conduct a “Back to School” drive for low income families (July-August)
  • Conduct a coat drive for less fortunate people (November)
  • Provide a monthly party for the residents in a nursing home
  • Collect greeting cards for Trinity School
  • Collect used postage stamps for the Franciscan Missions
  • And much more!

Also CCW is a "larger than parish" organization. It participates in NCCW (National Council of Catholic Women) and WUCWO which is the World Union of Catholic Women's Organizations. Their motto for the year is "Women United... Making a Difference." If you have any questions or would like to take an active part in CCW, please feel free to call Sharon Kolodziej at 741-0146, the rectory at 727-4746.
