Held at Tradition's Bar & Grill

This will stand as the minutes of St. Patrick's Men's Club and the meeting for the benefit of Mike Hettinger's family.

Attended by Brian Bessler, Chris and Eileen Martin, Kurt and Sue Kambic, Paul Ward, Mary Workman, Mike Harvey, Bob Costello, Rich Delaney, Scott Lockwood, Paul and Paula Boley, Ruth Smith, Javier Beccera, Jim Dietz, Bob Vergo

Men's Club business was addressed first. The chili dinner will be held on Jan. 31, 2010. Scott said that the St. Ray's chili cook off was well run and that we should use some of their ideas. We will have a meeting in early Jan. to fine tune things.

We also discussed the idea of a internet 50/50 raffle. Brian Bessler explained some of the avenues to be able to get the word out. We will set up a date with the administrator to see his display.

This took all of 15 minutes to go thru.

THEN WE TOASTED MIKE. ACTUALLY ,THIS WAS THE FIRST OF MANY TOASTS TO MIKE.

We went over from top to bottom as to what we needed and what needs to be done for the Nov. 22 event. We will run the event from 12 - 6. We will start setting up at 10am.

  • We will have kids games, raffles/auctions, food and a bar.

  • Mike Harvey had concerns with how Kathy should receive the proceeds from the fundraiser. We invited Kathy Thomas to the meeting and she said that unless someone was going to make a large donation and use it as a deduction not to worry about it.

  • There was a lot to cover. Set up times, advertising, donations, food..

  • We will have a cover charge of $1/person, $5/family,or a donation as you feel is proper.

  • Kids games will be held in the hallway. We will use the tickets left over from FamilyFest. We will place popcorn, deep fried Snicker bars and candy there.

  • The food will be Italian beef, Italian sausage, hotdogs and pizza. The MC has about 10 frozen pizzas that can be used. Kurt Kambic will get us some pizzas from Linda's Pizza. We are going to ask Tim Mallaney about getting us some hotdog buns from Aldi's. (Tim said that he would see what he could procure) Paula Boley, Ruth Smith, Sue Kambic and Scott Lockwood will get this together.

  • Dayrl Miller will have pop and water in the cooler for us.

  • The bar will be fine. Tradition's donated a barrel of beer and a kegerator. We will run a football pool from there.

  • Eileen Martin has done a great job in gathering items to auction and raffle off. She and Mary Workman will work on organizing everything.

  • We will run with cash everywhere else.

  • We will run a stream of paper on a wall and have people sign messages to Mike and his family. There will be a jar there for doantions.

  • Theo Bellos belongs to a band called the Fender Bender's. They will play for us from 1 - 2:30. The choirs will play from 12 - 1. And we are hoping that the Spanish group will be able to participate after the 1pm mass. Jim Smith will DJ in between as needed.

This is a short synopsis of Sunday's events.

Thank you,

Bob Vergo
