St. Patrick Parish couples are involved with marriage preparation six months prior to their actual wedding date.

Couples are ased to call the office before setting a date for their wedding or making other commitments. The Diocese of Joliet requires a minimum preparation time of six months between the first conference and the wedding.

Prospective brides and grooms meet in the homes of a Marriage Preparation team couples on two occasions and meet with the priest/celebrant of the wedding on three occasions to prepare for the wedding day.

Various married couples assist the pastor in this program. The engaged couple completes a pre marriage inventory followed by discussion of areas of concern. This gives the engaged couple the opportunity to think about and discuss openly these areas.
